Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris is a thrilling read. The book takes you back and forth between the past and present of newlyweds Grace and Jack, to help you connect the dots in this story. It is presented very well by the author. You learn Grace will do anything for her sister Millie, who has down syndrome. She meets Jack and he sweeps her off of her feet. But is he too good to be true? Soon after they are married she is introduced to his dark side. From the outside looking in they have the perfect marriage, but behind closed doors…

Jack is controlling manipulative and conniving. He experienced psychological trauma in his childhood that helps mold him into a methodical and calculating monster. Grace is an extremely strong woman. She considers herself a protector of Millie and will go to extreme lengths to make sure Millie is safe. Millie is my favorite character. She proves to be a very loving, clever, and you will fall in love with her from the start. The book is a very easy and engaging read. I finished the book in about 3.5 hours on one of my very long layovers.
